Medicines
The Medicines page is your clinic's medication catalog — the list of drugs your team maintains and prescribes from during visits. Keeping it tidy means faster, more consistent prescriptions.
The medicine list
Each medicine shows its name, form, strength, category, a default dose (amount · frequency · route), how often it's been prescribed (usage), and any notes. To find one quickly you can:
- Search by name or code.
- Filter by category or form.
- Sort by name (A–Z or Z–A) or by most prescribed.
Adding a medicine
Open New Medicine
Click New Medicine to open the form.
Enter the essentials
Give it a unique code and a name — both required.
Add details
Optionally set the generic name, form, strength, category, and manufacturer (company).
Set a default dose
Add a default amount, unit, frequency, and route so prescriptions pre-fill sensibly.
Save
Add any notes (and optionally link a medical rep), then save.
Edit a medicine with the pencil on its row, or remove it with the trash icon (you'll be asked to confirm).
Prescribing from the catalog
When a doctor prescribes a medicine on a visit, it's drawn from this catalog and its default dose pre-fills — they can still adjust it for the patient. Each medicine also tracks its usage (how many times it's been prescribed), which powers the "most prescribed" sort. See Visits for the examination workflow.
Who can manage it
Medicines is for clinicians and managers
Owners, branch managers, and doctors can view and manage the catalog — add, edit, and remove medicines. Reception and accountants don't see the Medicines page. See Roles & permissions.
